Introductions first! Hi, I’m Solstia, one of Azarizotza’s friends/ handlers, and I am here to rectify Aza’s terrible excuse for a blog post. True we were in ICC10, but don’t let it fool you! It’s not like he does anything there!
Anyways, what can I say about this latest update? It’s been in the making for a while, and Aza’s worked pretty hard to post it, *cough even if the update is late cough*. While I don’t really know the ending I can tell you that knowing his sense of humor, this comic idea can only get funnier. I’m sure this goes without saying, but just to make sure everyone’s on the same page: Rhonin = guy married to Sylvanas’s sister/ leader of Dalaran. I also know this has been said in the comments before, but I’m totally digging Thrall in that pink shirt. Only the leader of the Horde could pull something so risque off!
On behalf of Xandaria and I, I also promise to whip him every Monday until he has a comic done for Tuesday updates. We both know how frustrating it is to be promised a web-comic update only to have it denied to us after a hard day’s work! With that promise of abuse, I leave you with something Aza introduced me to which has brought me many a happy moment, hoping that it will be stuck in your head as much as it’s stuck in mine… Jaraxxus Remix
AHH IN THE MIDDLE OF ICC 10 WILL HAVE A POST LATER!
EDIT:
Ah Okay, now that Raiding is over. I can say something.
Fizzle Wizzle
That is all. Leave your tips at the door.
Yes. It’s only half of what I had originally had planned for Orc-a-nomics 2, but I wanted to give you guys something this week. I royally screwed up my Adobe Illustrator. True, I do a part of my comics in Photoshop, but I do a big part in Illustrator.
When I try to do my comics in Photoshop alone, the following sequence of events occur:
1. Open Photoshop.
2. Start Free Hand Drawing
3. ???
4. This result

5. Absolutely no profit. (Note: This step is frequently if not always achieved by me regardless of the preceding sequence)
Anywhoo. Rhonin always struck me as the 1980′s “shark” type businessman. Does he have the solution to the economic woes? Perhaps. I know you haven’t seen much character establishment (besides Sylvanas responding to offense with Direct-Arrow Perforation Psychology) or had any questions answered, but I’m gonna take a book out of the page of Lost and use the ever procrasti-batory (yes I mixed two words, I’ll leave you to figure out what they were) excuse and say the answers are coming.
Here we are. Thursday, and I’ve STILL have not updated.
I have a real problem this time though. I accidentally destroyed my Adobe Illustrator dependencies and I need to reinstall it. Problem is, my disc is in my house that’s 80 miles away.
So it looks like Orc-a-nomics might be like a 6 parter instead of 5. I think I finished enough of the 2nd one to actually make a decent comic of its own and can do what I missed in Photoshop.
SORRY GUYS >.
I present to you
The first part in a 5 part comic thingy. Yes it took me a while, but it’s kinda taxing to do a comic a week and manage to get 10 minutes of daylight every so often.
So it seems that the World of Warcraft is not without it’s intricate political and economical woes. In a world of heroes, dungeons and a dragon or two, the city leaders still have to convene to come to the extremely frightening reality that running four cities engaged in what must be at least a 600 front war is impossibly expensive. Can they figure it out? I hope so.
For the next couple of weeks, Aza, Xandie, Solstia, Ultimus, Cyndrei and all the other characters you know are taking a break. But don’t worry, they’ll be back along with many more characters.
Oh yeah, sorry I’m late. I must remember. Tuesday doesn’t last 3 days.
This is something I posted on wow.com regarding the recent Ensidia World First Saronite Bomb Exploit Dispute. I think I need to post it here so it’s set in stone. I’ll probably get some people who disagree with me and maybe lose some fans as people feel very strongly about this. I encourage intelligent discussion. I’m saying it now, I consider intelligent discussion anything with less than five “u suk”s in it.
Personally, I think they are in the wrong.
I report any and ALL glitches and exploits, beneficial or otherwise.
Whenever I’m tempted to use a glitch to my advantage, I simply consider the situation requires the same action I would take if our World First Algalon Loot Chest was bugged.
Had that happened to them, they couldn’t report it fast enough.
Yes, the first time you see the fight ever, you can get away with that, but at least 10/25 knew that’s not how the fight was supposed to be.
It was their responsibility to figure it out or ticket a GM. You could argue they were losing Valuable World First Time, but had they followed the proper protocol, they might be in Paragon’s Shoes as another guild who made their mistake was penalized.
Unfortunately, I don’t think the Saronite Bomb Exploit was performed accidentally, unless it’s part of the rogue’s DPS to throw them up in the air and off the edge. He may have discovered it accidentally, but I seriously don’t think it would have come to ban if it only happened 1 or 2 times.
This is especially poetic as Ensidia blew the whistle on Exodus’ World first Yogg-Zero. Don’t get me wrong, Exodus was horribly in the wrong for doing what they did and deserved what they got. But when you make a statement like “We would never down a boss in that way” you are expected to stick to that, no matter the circumstances.
The punishment distributed is exactly the same in both cases. I believe this is justified. Even if Ensidia didn’t know about the glitch coming in, again they knew that a mechanic they had experienced in 10 man was simply not functioning in an equal or even more difficult fashion, and chose to ignore it and let it work for them. Exodus may have known about the exploit explicitly and planned Yogg-Zero accordingly. But to me, it’s the same crime. It’s the difference between “I hate this guy, so 2 weeks from know when I know he’s alone, I’ll hit him with my car” and “I hate this guy, but I don’t think I’d kill him, but I’m here alone right now and I was just handed a knife so I’ll stab him” Both are premeditated murder and the story doesn’t change it.
Yes, you can always play the ignorance card and this is yet to be factually proven. So if they were TRUELY ignorant of what they were doing, (which I find it really hard to believe coming from a top tier raiding guild), my argument is somewhat invalid. If they are a righteous as they claimed to be during the Exodus fiasco, they’d pick up, even slightly, that something is wrong.
I’m not a economist, but if I’m gonna get into the stock market and something appears too good to be true, you bet I’m gonna re-examine my choices and upon re-examination, I’d probably, just from basic knowledge of the law, would get a sense of the rightness or wrongness of this prospect. If I acted on impulse and took it and it turned out to be horribly illegal, ignorance in any form is not going to save me in court.
You upheld the law once before, now you uphold it again.
You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind.
P.S. My guild wouldn’t allow levitate in TOGC25. Despite it being an exploit, they felt it encouraged bad raiding habits. Additionally, the first isn’t always the best. I don’t think anyone in the right mind would argue that the best and most functional lightbulb ever made was the first.
COMIC HIJACKING!
So, hi! I’m Xandaria: Aza’s better half, sometimes editor, and full time healer. Aza wants to do a series of comics with a story arc, but needs more time to work on it. He also didn’t want to disappoint his fans so he asked me to come up with something to put up in the mean time. So I present to you: “D.I.Y.” or as I like to call it “Some Assembly Required. Please Consult Doctor Before Crafting.” What can I say, I like long titles. The artwork is obviously Aza’s (as mine is best left off the interwebs) and the writing and idea are mine.
I guess technically some of the credit should go to our guild as well, since the idea originally came as a joke from various guildies. Way back in ToC25 I was not feeling too well during one of our raids and became so ill that Aza had to take me to an ER (but I still totally rocked the healing meters). It was there I discovered that I had spent the better part of the night raiding with acute appendicitis. Talk about hardcore, right? Anyway, I had to have my appendix removed and many a joke was made about me being able to keep it in a jar. Somehow it also came up that the offhand frill I wanted from Twins still hadn’t dropped (It still hasn’t dropped.) and that I should make my appendix into my new offhand. Somehow out of all that came this comic.
So, thanks Aza for letting me be part of your website and thanks TMDM for a good idea.
Also, *steps up on soapbox* what is with the lack of offhands and low drop rates Blizz? *steps off soapbox*
To all who read this, especially the two out of seven of you who actually come here Tuesday looking for an update eagerly, I may not make the comic today. I KNOW I KNOW! It’s patch day! The Torment-iest Torment of the Week there is.
Rest assured, I am working hard on pumping it out today. You should know though, I’m working on something big. Yeah. something kinda 5 part big. I know, what could be bigger than Ultimus? Well, read back a statement, I never said it was bigger than Ultimus. I just said it was big.
In other news, if you want to pay a poor momentarily disabled artist a visit get to woweh.com now.
I’m not just saying that because the comic I drew for her is on her site. I’m saying that because her site is the reason this site exists. I had doodlings and sketchings and vague ideas of humor, but it was her website that inspired me to try to live up to that. Here’s an instruction: click the comics link and read away, you won’t regret it, especially the ones involving King Varian Douchebag Wrynn. I was about to mention one specifically, but I realized I liked them both too much. You’ll have to read them all to know what I’m talking about!
But seriously, I’m in a hallowed state right now. Yeah, that might be too much, but Cadistra mentioning me on the website is…is…well, I can’t think of an adjective for it, but I’m sure one of you can find something that means “pure-aza’s-not-worthy-ness”. It’s like when I walked into Ulduar for the first time…or like the first time Ultimus invited me to a raid without incessant harrassing…except I feel far more unworthy. I guess it’s more like the time I walked into St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican and slapped Pope Benedict during mass. Yeah that’s more of the unworthy flow I’m going for, minus the disrespect.
Alright guys, enough excuses. I’m gonna try to take a nap type thing and get you guys something to read, though by the time I’m done, you’ll all be farmin’ Frostwing Halls.
